Suspect arrested in connection with Mattawa area homicide
The Grant County Sheriff's Office arrest and charge a man with first degree murder in connection with last month's homicide near Mattawa.
35-year-old Jose Aguilar Aguilar of Mattawa is suspected of killing Carmelita Santos of Yakima on October 16th.
Santos' body was found by a hunter in a recreation area off of Road 26 Southwest.
Detectives say their investigation revealed Aguilar and Santos had been in a romantic relationship and that Aguilar was upset when Santos broke off that relationship.
