Dia De Los Muertos Comes To Tieton
People from the Yakima Valley gather to honor the dead and celebrate life this weekend.
The Tieton Arts and Humanities hosted it's third Dia de los Muertos event at the Mighty Tieton warehouse in Tieton.
The event gives people the chance to visit the various alters dedicated to those who passed, and enjoy traditional Hispanic food and music.
Event planners say it also allows others outside of the culture to learn something new.
"It's important for the community with whom we share this beautiful valley with to know what is our tradition; so they can see why we are, what we are, and who we are," said Aurora Pena-Torres.
Dia de los Muertos officially begins on November first.
