Pasco man dies in vehicle crash east of Pendleton

Oregon State Police (OSP) is continuing the investigation into last night's single vehicle traffic crash along Interstate 84 about fifteen miles east of Pendleton the resulted in the death of a Pasco man and minor injuries to two other men. The crash is a reminder to be prepared and alert now for changing road conditions with winter approaching.

Last night at approximately 9:57 p.m., a 1992 GMC pickup driven by Eloy Andrade, age 55, from San Benito, Texas, was eastbound on Interstate 84 when Andrade lost control on icy road conditions. The pickup traveled off the highway and rolled 3 times in the median before coming to rest on its left side.

Passenger Carlos Pena Garcia, age 49, from Pasco, was pronounced deceased at the scene. He was not using safety restraints.

Andrade and passenger Antonio Andrade , age 59, from Pasco, were transported by ambulance to St. Anthony Hospital in Pendleton with minor injuries.
