Halloween Party

We're about a week away from Halloween, but many children in Richland are already getting into the spooky spirit.

Dozens of kids just couldn't wait another eight days to get dressed up for Halloween.

So they got suited up in their trick or treating gear and headed to the Richland Library.

This afternoon, the library held a Halloween party.

Librarians read spooky stories to the children, and the kids even went on a Halloween parade, weaving in and out of the bookshelves.

Parents say today's event is a great way to get the kids introduced to Halloween, especially if they're a little too young to go trick or treating at night.

"I came to have Hayden show of his costume and do some crafts and have some fun with friends" said Kristina Roberts, parent.

After the Halloween parade, the children gathered together for some arts and crafts time.

They made some spooky hats and Halloween decorations to put around the house to get into the Halloween spirit.

The Richland Library is also hosting a Scary Stories event on Thursday at 7 PM.

Local storytellers will be reading spooky books for all ages.
