Quick action by two keeps fire from causing greater damage
Fire crews were able to bring a fire at an apartment complex located on the 5200 block of West Nob Hill Boulevard under control very quickly Saturday afternoon.
Two apartments were damaged by the fire, which started just before 5 p.m.
Battalion Chief Mitch Cole is grateful for two alert individuals who used portable fire extinguishers on the fire and pulled the manual fire alarm to alert both the occupants and the fire department. Additionally, the automatic fire sprinkler system kept the fire from advancing.
Nobody was displaced by the fire and no injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, but is not believed to be suspicious.
