Employee Allegedly Steals From Police Department
An employee with the city of Yakima has been placed on unpaid administrative leave for allegedly stealing from the police department.
During the course of a state audit, the department's home detention account fund was short $5,500 dollars in cash.
The employee responsible for handling that account, whose name was withheld by the YPD, admitted to taking the funds.
That employee was terminated last month and is subject to criminal charges.
