Blood In Lewis County Motel Room May Have Been Suicide Attempt

Yakima police think a man who took his own life after an officer involved shooting yesterday may have tried to commit suicide in a Lewis County motel room.
Police were checking on 55 year old Joseph Ricard at his address in Yakima yesterday, after blood was found in the motel room he had stayed in.
Officers and Ricard exchanged gunfire before Ricard turned his gun on himself.
Police say he had bandages on his wrists at yesterday's crime scene.
The Yakima County Coroner's Office plans to do an autopsy tomorrow.
