Industrial Accident in Pasco Injures Worker

A worker suffers second and third degree burns this morning when a welding gas tank caught fire at a Pasco business.

Firefighters say the worker was injured around 1 a.m. as he was working with a pallet of tanks at Oxarc located on the 700 block of South Oregon Street.

The worker, who has not been identified, was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Investigators believe the fire was caused by static electricity.
