Man Hospitalized From Mobile Home Fire
A man is in stable condition after being hospitalized following a fire at his mobile home last night.
Firefighters from West Yakima City Fire responded around 8:30 at a trailer park on West Nob Hill Boulevard.
Firefighters rescued 83-year-old Lee Pridgen from his bedroom after crews used a chainsaw to create an entry from outside.
Pridgen was transported to Seattle's Harborview Medical Center for smoke inhalation.
Pridgen's daughter says she was at the store at the time of the fire, and feared for the worst when her son called her about the fire.
"This is devestating, we had a fire when I was a young child, you know, and it was devestating then. And it's even worse now in the fact that I could have lost my dad, and I could have lost my son, because normally, he would be sleeping," said Mary Sauve.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Losses are estimated at $75,000.
