A new study shows nearly half of all jobs in Washington State are linked to foreign trade.
The study done by a Seattle council on trade reveals international trade now accounts for 40 percent of all jobs in Washington State.
A number thats jumped 230 percent since 2004.
The study says trade with China is at an all time high. In our region, local businesses are increasing foreign trade.
"Obviously the report talks a lot about agricultural export and having Benton Franklin and Yakima county kind of being big ag counties in terms of commodities, I'm sure those exports are extremely important to the agricultural industry in the Mid-Columbia region," says Carl Adrian, President of TRIDEC.
