$175K Grant To Yakima Memorial Hospital
The families of 37 babies will continue to receive home visiting services in Yakima County with the support of a $175,000 grant.
The money comes from Washington State's Home Visiting Services Account
Home visiting is a voluntary service, the hospital says trained professionals meet with at-risk families in their homes and offer information and support related to healthy child and family development.
According to Yakima Memorial Hospital when families receive this kind of support, their children are born healthier, are less likely to suffer from abuse or neglect and are better prepared for school.
Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital is one of five recipients to share $711,800 in funding from the public-private account.
