Scan Away Hunger
Yakima grocery stores are scanning away hunger one check stand at a time.
The stores are teaming up with the Union Gospel Mission in Yakima to help the hungry this holiday season.
At each checkstand shoppers will be able to purchase a voucher for a$1.97, which is the price to feed one person one meal each day.
Participating stores include Wray's Thriftways in Yakima, Red Apple Market in Selah, Toppenish/Wapato Marketplace, Rosauers Grocery Outlet and the Olde Lighthouse Shoppe.
The charity runs until December 31st.
