J.C. Penney Opens
People are filing into a brand new department store that opened this weekend.
The J.C. Penney store in Union Gap opened its doors to the public yesterday, after the downtown Yakima store closed nearly 12 years ago.
The store is employing 115 part time and full time workers.
One customer says she has been waiting years for another department store to open up in the valley.
"We don't have enough variety here in Yakima. We really don't. And I love the bedding at Penney's, and we're walking around checking out the clothes. We're just happy that it's her," said Candace Sunski.
J.C. Penney will be having a formal grand opening on Friday at 9:30 am.
