It's getting more expensive for Washington drivers to get behind the wheel.

Starting today, the Department of Licensing is charging drivers more money to get and renew their driver's licenses.

The cost for a new license jumped from $45 to $80.

The renewal cost went up from $25 to $45.

Enhanced drivers licenses also went up from $60 to $95.

The extra money will go to the state's general transportation fund.
