Union Gospel Mission Thanksgiving

Hundreds of homeless men and women are treated to an early Thanksgiving dinner in Yakima today.

About 50 volunteers and workers from the Union Gospel Mission served hot meals to over 200 homeless people.

It's a yearly tradition for the organization, the mission in the Tri-Cities is serving meals today and tomorrow.

Over the next two days the organization is expecting about 600 people to show up.

"There's always going to be people that need some help, and we're here to help them," said Project Coordinator Marv Lindley, "Everything we have at the mission is donated by many-many people in the community. And it's all free to everybody that we can take care of and help them here at the mission."

The Union Gospel Mission in Yakima will have another Thanksgiving meal at one tomorrow.

The mission in Pasco will have it at 2.
