Washington's wine industry is getting a big boost thanks to online retailer, Amazon.

You can now buy hundreds of wines on the site's online marketplace.

For wineries in the Columbia Valley, this means greater exposure, more expansion opportunities, and more revenue.

The online site has more than 1,000 wines from wineries across the United States.

Many of those are from Washington.

You can even click to see which wines are from the Walla Walla Valley, the Yakima Valley and Horse Heaven Hills.

Goose Ridge Vineyards in Richland has more than a dozen wines on the site.

Employees there say this is a great way to get people introduced to wines they could not normally get.

They also say it will help showcase the diversity of Washington's wines.

"It's pretty exciting. A lot of it is just having easy access to our wine. With a lot of people, they can't necessarily get to our Richland tasting room or our Woodinville tasting room. So this is just an easier way for them to get our wine" said Jenn Nance, Goose Ridge Tasting Room Manager.

Amazon is shipping wine to Washington and ten other states.

The prices for bottles of wine range from less than $10 to more than $100 each.

Amazon employees say shipping up to six bottles of wine will cost $10.
