Richland #2 For Raising Children

If you're raising children it Richland you may want to stay put!  The website Kiplinger.com says Richland is the second best city in the nation to raise children.

The rating is based on the number of parks and playground, how much money is spent per child in schools, income levels and affordability.

Mayor John Fox says he knows first hand just how family friendly Richland is.  He moved to the city 61 years ago, planning to stay just a couple of years.

The mayor says the ranking is important to the city because it helps lure talented workers to the area, which the future economy relies on.

Richland came in second behind Omaha, Nebraska.
