Federal Grants Awarded To Valley Cities
The Washington State Department of Commerce today announced 15 cities and counties that will receive a total of more than $11 million in federal general purpose grants.
The selected projects will improve rural community water, sewer and street systems' housing rehabilitation, fire protection and community facilities.
One million dollars is awarded to the city of Granger for wastewater treatment facility improvements.
Over $750K is awarded to the city of Mabton for wastewater treatment facility improvements as well.
The state's community development block grants target lower income and rural areas.
