10th Anniversary Of Click It Or Ticket
Today marks the 10 year anniversary of click it or ticket, encouraging drivers to wear their seatbelt or face a fine.
Washington State has the 2nd highest rate of buckled up drivers in the nation at 97.5 percent.
For the next two weeks extra patrols will be looking for drivers not wearing their seatbelts, and troopers say that is most common at night.
Studies show seat belts decrease the chance of dying in a crash by 60 percent and reduce the risk of head injury by 80 percent.
The ticket is 124 dollars if you are caught without your seatbelt on.
