Whooping Cough Vaccines Available Tuesday in Kennewick
The Benton-Franklin Health District (BFHD) will hold two pertussis (whooping cough) vaccination clinics on Tuesday, May 15th and Tuesday, May 22 from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Kennewick office at 7102 W. Okanogan Place.
Free vaccine will be available to eligible adults only at these evening clinics. Eligibility requirements are: age 19 or older, low income, frequent contact with infants less than 1 year of age, and no health insurance or insurance that does not cover vaccines.
No appointment is needed.
Pertussis (whooping cough) has reached epidemic proportions in Washington State and the number of cases in Benton and Franklin counties is also elevated. To help reduce the spread of infection, BFHD has received a limited number of free adult Tdap doses from Governor Gregoire's emergency allocation of funds.
