Future Uncertain for Vista Field
The future of Kennewick's Vista Field airport is at risk, after some surprising news about projected operating costs.
The Port of Kennewick was in talks with Kennewick resident Dr. Mike Shannon, who estimated it would cost him about $40,000 dollars per year to operate the air field.
Port President Skip Novakovich says Shannon recently changed that estimate to about a million dollars per year, when all costs are added up.
Novakovich says the port will have to put the airport operations out for bid again, or consider eventually closing.
