WSU Approves Tuition Hike
SEATTLE (AP) -- Washington State University's Board of Regents has voted to raise tuition by 16 percent. That increase of $1,500 will make WSU in-state tuition $10,874 this next school year.
With mandatory fees added in, the bill will come to about $11,735, which means it will continue to be slightly more expensive to attend WSU than University of Washington.
UW is also looking at a 16 percent increase for the next school year. And Washington's other colleges are all talking about double-digit increases in the fall.
Although the Legislature didn't cut money going to higher education again this year. These tuition increases are a result of budget decisions made by the 2011 Legislature.
