Man Accused of Crashing Stolen Truck Gets 4 Years
The Kennewick man accused of stealing a truck from Richland and crashing it because he was texting got four years and two months for his crimes Thursday in court.
Jeromy Kirkendall, 33, crashed the truck in the front yard of a family's home on April 2nd.
He was driving down Garfield Street when he told officers he was eating, looked down to read a text message, veered into a ditch and flipped the stolen vehicle.
Kirkendall tried to flee from the scene but officers received a call that he was on West 45th Avenue just blocks away from the accident, and he was taken into custody.
The car was completely totaled, but the house was not damaged and nobody was hurt in the incident.
Krikendall was also in court for other criminal activity.
