Group celebrates National Day of Prayer in Richland
More than a dozen people spent the noon hour today in Richland singing and praying for our nation.
A group met at the Central United Protestant Church on the corner of Stevens and Williams to read from the Bible and pray together, then they marched to the Richland Police Station.
Organizers hoped their march today sent a reminder to the community about today's observance.
The National Day of Prayer was established as an annual event in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman.
