Wash. Dept. of Ecology conducts spill response drill in Richland
About 50 emergency responders from across Washington State participated in a spill response drill this afternoon at Columbia Park Marina in Richland.
During the simulated spills -- 5 ecology response teams worked to assess potential hazardous materials and determine what kind of substance was released.
Officials say the first few hours of an incident are often the most critical part of a hazardous material response and crews across the state need to have the same training.
