The standoff between and Oregon police SWAT team and Alberto Martinez at a cabin in Klamath County near Crescent Lake is now over and Martinez's hostage Melody Mickel is safe.

The standoff ended just before 5:00 PM when Martinez exited the cabin using Mickel as a human shield. A member of the SWAT team shot Martinez, who received a non-life threatening wound, and rescued Mickel.

The standoff began late this morning after a car found nearby was confirmed to be the car linked to the 28-year old Martinez, who is suspected of kidnapping his ex-girlfriend Mickel last week.

Surveillance video from the Hermiston Rite Aid where Mickel works shows her getting into a car with  Martinez last Thursday morning.
