49 New US Citizens
49 immigrants officially become United States Citizens today in Yakima.
The new citizens were honored during a naturalization ceremony at Davis High School.
They came from 18 countries including the Czech Republic, India and Vietnam.
The ceremony was held at the high school to encourage students to learn more about citizenship and the citizenship process.
New citizens from Nepal and Mexico say they came to this country for the endless number of opportunities.
"The US country is the most powerful and everybody wants to come here, ya know but today I am becoming a citizen of this country so I'm happy," says Deepak Chand who was born in Nepal.
