Food Stamp Benefits Cut In Half For Legal Immigrants
Legal immigrants in Washington State will soon see one of their benefits cut in half.
The State Department of Social and Health Services says beginning Sunday, legal immigrants on the food assistance program which provides them with food stamps, will be reduced significantly.
The reduction is all part of a cost saving measure to help balance the state's budget.
DSHS says it has already notified those locally whose benefits would be affected.
