Helicopters Drying Cherry Crops
Several helicopters could be seen coming and going from Vista Field in Kennewick Tuesday.
Cherry orchards are in need of some drying after rain fell most of the day, and the helicopters were used to try and dry the cherries before water seeped into the leaves.
Farmers are harvesting the cherries right now and if water gets into the cherries it can cause them to split, ruining the cherries.
The helicopters would stop at Vista Field to refuel for about ten minutes and then take off again.
