Yakima Ranks High For Car Thefts
Yakima ranks near the top of the list for car thefts in the US having the fifth highest rate in the nation.
According to the National Insurance Crime Bureau Yakima jumped five spots from the previous year at number ten.
Drivers we spoke with today say they aren't surprised and will be taking more precautions in the future.
"Just keep our vehicles locked up and we've got motion sensor lights out here," says Jim Rose.
"I always keep the windows rolled up and make sure they are locked and in a well lit area," says Don Deccio.
We're told the best way to prevent thefts is to use visible security devices in your car such as a steering wheel lock.
