Last Home Opener For The Bears?
The Yakima Bears take on the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes tonight at county stadium in what should be the team's final opening day ever in Yakima.
The Bears have agreed to terms with the Hilsboro, Oregon city council on a move there for next season.
The city's lawyers are drafting a lease agreement, which will be voted on by the city council at their meeting next Tuesday.
The Bears general manager says the probability of a move to oregon makes tonight's opener bittersweet.
"Its hard, I mean its hard for me I mean I've been here fo 12 years - franchsise has been here for 23 so to face that relaity that this could be the last season is emotional. but were excited we are gonna put on a great show and we have a great group of fans," says K.L Wombacher.
The game begins tonight at 7.
