Grocery Store Shooting Victim In Stable Condition, Photo of Suspect Released
A man shot in a Safeway parking lot yesterday in Yakima, is in stable condition.
Officers say just before 5 p.m. a man had met another man at Safeway on North 5th Avenue to resolve a dispute over a cell phone.
Officers say the suspect shot the victim twice in the side and arm.
Meantime, a witness to the shooting pulled his own gun and intervened. Witnesses say the mans actions prevented another shot from being fired.
The suspect, however, fled in a gray or blue sedan and is described as a 5'10", 190 pound hispanic man with short hair and was last seen wearing a green shirt and blue pants.
Anybody with information as to the identity of this individual is asked to contact the Yakima Police Department at 575-6200.
