Bystander Pulls Gun On Shooting Suspect

A man who witnessed a shooting in a Yakima Safeway parking lot prevents that shooting from becoming worse by pulling his own gun on the suspect

Andrew Schilperoort saw 25 year old Jaime Partida shot twice at the Safeway on 5th avenue last night after arguing with the suspect over a cell phone.

Schilperoort, who has a weapons license, pulled out his gun and started yelling at the suspect to drop his weapon.

He says he was glad he was there, because the situation could have become much worse.

"I thought so, it appeared to me that he was coming back on to him, to finish him, to shoot him, to end him, so I jumped on the scene as soon as i could."

Partida is in stable condition at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Officers are looking for this suspect - described as an Hispanic man about five feet ten inches tall and 190 pounds.
