Sonics Fans Mixed on Thunder Success
Seattle Supersonics fans are mixed on the Oklahoma City Thunder reaching the NBA Finals just four years after the team left the emerald city.
The Thunder beat the San Antonio Spurs in game six of the Western Conference Finals Wednesday night, putting the Thunder in the NBA finals for the first time since they moved from Seattle.
Sonics fans took to Twitter and Facebook after the game talking about how hard it is to watch the same team that was in Seattle do so well in Oklahoma City.
A few people in the Tri-Cities were supportive of the team doing so well:
"I think it's awesome that they did make the finals, I just wish they would've stayed in Seattle at the time or Seattle had never lost the team." - Raye Sims, Richland
"It's exciting for them, but I'm just a little envious because they need to be up here with us." - Jo Carmichael, LaGrande, OR
"I'm just really happy for them, they're all a bunch of young guys and they deserve it." - Ed Lerma, Pasco
The Thunder will face either the Miami Heat or Boston Celtics when the NBA Finals start on Tuesday, which you can see on KAPP/KVEW starting at 5:30 P.M.
