2 arrested in Kittitas Co. Animal Neglect case

The Kittititas County Sheriff arrested two people this morning without incident following a two week animal neglect investigation.
58-year-old Bernardo Garcia and 55-year-old Joann Garcia were arrrested at their property located on Burbank Creek Road, just off State Route 821.
Both were booked into the Kittitas County Jail on 56 counts of animal cruelty. Each count represents a gross misdemeanor which could result in 364 days in jail and up to a $5,000 fine, per count.
In an effort to expedite placement of the animals and to establish future care for them, the Garcias will be asked to voluntarily relinquish interest in the animals. This could facilitate the adoption process.
