Nile Valley Days Begins
People from around the Nile Valley come together this weekend to celebrate the 38th annual Nile Valley Days.
The weekend long event took place at Jim Sprick Community Park, where residents could listen to live music, enjoy outdoor food, and compete in activities such as axe throwing.
Coordinators say the event, which also serves as a fundraiser for the park and various organizations, attracts about 400 people from around the valley every year.
"To me, this is a big gathering of our people, to get together as a family and have a good time," says Park Director Evelyn Sowers.
"We have enjoyed it for many years, and it's something that the whole community can raise money for their organizations," says Nile Valley resident Frances Simmons.
The Nile Valley Days are held the third weekend of July every year.
