Kittitas Reclamation District Canal Is Repaired
Crews completed repairs around the 100-foot length of the Kittitas Reclamation District's main canal on Friday.
Officials say the canal should reach full capacity at that location by Monday, and the countywide irrigation system should reach full operation soon after that.
Workers dropped the main canal's flow by half on Wednesday after the canal's underpinning eroded 15 miles northwest of Ellensburg.
Crews believe the cause of erosion was due a lightning strike that caused a canal control device to fail Tuesday night.
