Fire In Vacant Home
9th Street and LaSalle
A vacant house almost goes up in flames this morning in Yakima.
Fire crews responded to reports of smoke in the area of 9th street and LaSalle around 2 a.m.
Crews say they located a vacant home with smoke coming from the roofline and floor openings.
Firefighters entered the house and extinguished a fire in a ground floor room.
Neighbors say the occupants had left the home a few weeks prior.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
