Update- State Routes 24 and 241 Back Open
Hwy 24/241 Fire
An update on the nearly 3000 acre grass fire in Yakima County.
Crews hope to have the fire burning North of Sunnyside fully contained by today.
The fire started about Noon yesterday, by a motorcycle that crashed on Highway 24. Two people were injured in the accident.
The fire shut down portions of State Route 24 and 241, but both are back open this morning.
The fire is more than half contained, and crews are on scene monitoring the lines. No structures were burned, even though some were threatened at one point.
