Planned Parenthood Holds Informational Forum

Planned Parenthood in Yakima is holding an informational forum tonight about the benefits women under federal health care reform will receive.

Officials say the forum is meant to educate and reach out to women in the community who are unaware of the benefits they may gain from the Affordable Care Act.

Some of those benefits include obtaining birth control, and receiving breast and cervical cancer screenings without a co-pay.

The forum will also discuss parts of the law that are not specific to women, including the option for young adults to stay on their parents' insurance until they are 26.

The meeting is from 6:30 to 8 at Planned Parenthood, on 1117 Tieton Drive in Yakima.
