1400 Yakima Homes Without Irrigation Water
Some homeowners in Yakima are receiving little to no irrigation water after a major leak causes a private company to shut down its canal.
City crews are assisting the New Schanno Canal Company to repair the company's damaged pipes.
The leak started last friday, and forced the company to shut off irrigation service to about 1400 homes.
One resident says the lack of irrigation water has prevented him from keeping his lawn in good shape.
"Oh yeah, it's very frustrating. But, to know that we're getting reassurance that the irrigation company is going to
put our yard back to the way it's supposed to be, just like the way it was, then that takes a little bit of the pressure off," says Nathan Ayon.
Crews hope to have service restored by tomorrow.
