Construction on Nob Hill

Drivers in Yakima may need to change their routine driving routes, because road construction begins today on Nob Hill.

Crews will be working on improving curbs, gutters, sidewalks, storm drains and widening the street.

The project will cost 2 million dollars and spreads from 40th Avenue to 72nd Avenue.

One person living in the construction says the hassle is worth it if the work improves traffic safety.

"Certain people want to take advantage of that. The result is a 35 mile per hour speed limit, it has seriously been abused. So, I don't know if that's going to help that any, but at least we'll have a little more room to run out of the way when the cars are driving up and down the road," says resident Gerald Hall.

The project will be complete by Thanksgiving.
