Wasp nests start fire.

A Yakima man's attempt at pest control goes up in flames.

Crews responded to the 12 thousand 600 block of West Lincoln Avenue.

Firefighters say a man was attempting to remove wasp nests from a field on his property with a propane torch, when material nearby caught fire, and spread through the brush and onto a nearby garage which houses the man's motorcycle shop.

The bikes were removed safely, but damage is estimated at $11,000.
