Power Restored in Kennewick
Power is now restored in the area of North Conway Street and Bruneau after an underground transformer started smoking this morning.
Police were called to the area at 7:45 this morning, they say an underground transformer started smoking underneath a sidewalk that runs along Chase Bank.
Benton PUD Crews are on the scene and residents in a nearby apartment complex and several businesses lost power. Police shut down Conway Street as a safety precaution.
No word on the cause of the blown transformer as of Thursday morning.
