Grass Browns in Horn Rapids
Hundreds of homeowners in Horn Rapids in Richland are still struggling to water their lawns, after the city's irrigation system went down more than two weeks ago.
Without adequate water, lawns and greenspaces are turning brown in the summer heat.
The irrigation system went down on June 27th, when high levels in the Columbia River began flooding the pumping equipment. The city is working to get the system up and running by early next week. In the meantime, many people aren't watering at all while others are using city water and good old fashioned sprinklers.
