Local Firefighters Return Home From Colorado
Twenty one firefighters from Cle Elum and Naches return home after over 2 weeks in Colorado- helping fight the Waldo Canyon fire that destroyed hundreds of homes.
Today Naches firefighters unloaded their gear after three days on the road traveling back from Colorado.
Crews were dispatched from the Naches Ranger Station and the Cle Elum Ranger station on June 24th.
They say the support from the community was something they had never experienced.
"Chaos- there were people lining the streets kids wanting to run up and give you hive five's when you were running down the road people thanking you it was- there was a lot of people. In the thousands," says Ty Johnson.
Local crews were released Sunday because the fire is nearly 100 percent contained.
