A decades old building at Heritage University in Toppenish is in ashes tonight

Firefighters say a fire started inside the cafeteria of Heritage's Petrie Hall around noon yesterday.

The fire destroyed classrooms, the school bookstore and their IT equipment.

Students and staff on campus for summer school are left without internet access and other communication services.

The school president says it is a loss for the university - but says it won't impact student education.

Firefighters say the damage totals $2.8 million, the cause is still unknown.
