A fire at Heritage University destroyed Petrie Hall on Sunday.  No other buildings were involved in the blaze and no injuries were reported.  The fire knocked out university communications, including the telephones and computer network.

Despite the damage, classes will be held as scheduled tomorrow, Monday, July
9 at all locations.  Classes on the Toppenish campus will be relocated to the Arts and Sciences Center.  University staff will be on hand to help students find the temporary classrooms.  Students are encouraged to arrive for class a few minutes earlier than usual.

The child care center will be closed on Monday.  University officials will
assess when the center will reopen and will notify parents.

All faculty and staff are to report to work as scheduled.
