Deadliest Day For Teen Drivers
Drivers traveling for the holiday should be aware, as a new study ranks today as the deadliest day for teen drivers.
According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety teens are four times more likely to be involved in a crash on July 4th and account for 10 percent of highway fatalities.
The insurance institute says its because teens are interacting with friends, distracted while they are driving, and mostly just because of their inexperience on the roadways.
The study shows that while alcohol and proper seat belt use were factors- 50 percent of teens say texting is their biggest distraction.
