Senator Patty Murray met with war veterans at the Veterans of Foreign Wars office in Yakima today to listen to their concerns.

Panelists told Murray about a number of issues facing veterans, including homelessness, the lack of jobs available to them, and health care.

Veteran Maggie Pezzullo of Grandview says she can work but her medical conditions prevent her from getting a job. She wants to have medical care available closer to home, which may help her become well enough to work.

"I don't want to go to Seattle anymore, I want to stay here, I want to go to my doctors here, doctors need to be outsourced, our medical care, I have great doctors who are civilian doctors but I can't see them because the V.A. won't pay for it," says Pezzullo.

Nearly 50 veterans attended Senator Murray's listening session in Yakima today. Murray is the chairman of the Veteran's Affairs Committee in Washington D.C.
